I am excited to join the ORE family! I am looking forward to getting to the know the students, parents, and staff of Oaks Road and having a successful year together!
Educational Background
In December of 2002, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University with a concentration in Psychology. That same year I also obtained my K-12 Reading Certification. In 2010, I earned a Masters of School Administration degree from ECU. In 2014, I completed the doctoral program in Educational Leadership and Administration at UNC-Wilmington. I continuously strive to be informed, proactive, and reflective for the benefit of all children, particularly the students of eastern North Carolina.
On a personal note...
Although I have not lived in North Carolina for my entire life, I consider myself to be a native of eastern North Carolina. I have lived here nearly all of my life and I love it! From an early age, my parents taught me respect, Christian values, to care for others, and to always believe in myself. My parents instilled in me a love of learning and the value of hard work.
I have been married to my husband (Ervin) for eight years. Although we do not have children of our own we spend a great deal of time with our nephew (Jaden) and our niece (Kayla). We also have a German Shepherd puppy (Rocky). As you can guess, there is never a dull moment when we are all together! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family in Vanceboro, reading, and traveling!
